Whether or not you’re a household that goes big on Valentines day, let’s face it, 11 months in to a global pandemic we all embrace ANY reason to throw a celebration these days…
So it’s going to be all hearts and flowers in our house come February, and with a little help from Moonpig, we have jumped on the bandwagon early (because, well, why not).
Historically our Valentines days post kids tend to be marked with a dine in for two meal, a card and a failed attempt to get the kids to bed early. But this year, Valentines day falls on Sunday 14th February, and with us all right here at home, we just might make a day of it.
Heart shaped egg on toast, a romantic table laid for four and the oh so nostalgic cards found on the doormat for the kids with an over dramatised “Oh look, who on earth could these be from?”.
One thing is for sure, and that is the fact that despite wanting to make a special day of it (and hoping that someone makes it special for me), I won’t be dragging myself around the aisles of the shops to pick the perfect card, in fear of gifting a little something extra this year.
But where there is a pre-meditated thought, there is a way, and through Moonpig.com you can cover all your valentines day needs without even having to leave the sofa.
It goes without saying that Moonpig has become a lifesaver when it comes to online cards in the past year – never has a personalised card meant more, when those we love are not close enough to hug.
I’ve prepped my Valentines cards well in advance, and made sure the girls aren’t left out so that they feel super special on Valentines day. How better to let your kids know they are loved than with a special little note on the day that celebrates love in all shapes and forms.
I was lucky enough to preview some of the Moonpig Valentines range to share with you – and I was pretty blown away by the quality and freshness of the INCREDIBLE bouquet that arrived this week.
I mean what could be more romantic than a dozen red roses? Well let me tell you, a dozen red roses with a dozen pink peonies and cinerea?
In all honesty, these are the most stunning roses I have ever received – and from an online store like Moonpig that’s truly unexpected.
Alongside the flowers, Moonpig have a range of gifts perfect for any Valentine – the Birchbox exclusive Valentines gift set contains a gorgeous collection of beauty products including
- 1 x INC.redible Lip Balm
- 1 x Beauty Protector Leave in Conditioner
- 1 x This Works Love Sleep Pillow Spray
- 1 x Chella Eyeshadow Palette
- 1 x Lord & Berry Highlighter
- 1 x Nails Inc. Nail Polish
My personal fave is the INC.redible Lip balm which will leave my lips super kissable for Valentines day…. Mwah.
But if make up and pampering isn’t her thing, maybe it’s pink Gin? The Valentine edition of Edinburgh Gin in a bespoke Valentines pack would make some one very happy on Valentines day.
Now I don’t drink, but I’ll be gifting this on to a super special friend on Valentines day to let her know how amazing I think she is… because every girl can have a Galentine…
If something a little outside the ordinary is what you are looking for, and it’s all about experiences over things, then a family date night (or alternatively couples date night) might be just the thing to fill a couple of hours and make it memorable. We will definitely be using our family evening voucher on Sunday 14th to create some fun and quality time together.
And last but not least, what is Valentines day without candles? I’ll certainly be lighting this Yankee Candle ‘The Last Paradise’ as dusk draws in and hoping that maybe, just maybe, this year the kids might treat us to an evening of peace.
Happy Valentines Day. Love Ya.
