Half term at home with Femme Luxe Finery

*collaborative post

This weekend marks the end of my week of annual leave and time spent with the kids at home for the October half term, 2020.

Unlike previous years where we have taken the opportunity to meet with friends, head away for a late break or even abroad for autumn adventure, this year we have spent the break… at home.

Perhaps it was the fear of plans being cancelled (again), a sixth sense to do the most sensible thing, or simply, the rule of 6 making plans just too tricky to orchestrate, but this week has been all about the movies, the snuggles, the baking and the casual wear.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as I received my latest bundle from Femme Luxe Finery ahead of my week off, and my new season picks were in keeping with the current stay home and snuggle vibes.

Tracky B’s

Apparently, tracksuit bottoms are on trend. Great news for those of us who have been rocking them for decades regardless. I invested in some just ahead of each baby to celebrate the impending maternity leave and wore them to death.

Nowadays, joggers needn’t be reserved for days at home, and you can wear them out and about with pride teamed with whatever the hell you like. Pumps, heels, cropped tops or baggy tees.

So I’ll continue wearing mine, now including this tasty classic grey marl pair, sans shame.

Fashion gods… THANK YOU.

The longline cardigan

I’m going there. I’m saying it.

Oh the happy days in the upper sixth swishing around in my ankle length ribbed cardigan. Boy it feels good to be back in full body knitwear This black chunky knit full length cardigan can be slung over jeans and a tee, a corset dress, or hell even those tracksuit bottoms for super snuggly sofa sessions, or make a perfectly acceptable park trip throw over.

It’s good times when it is perfectly acceptable to do your food shop wearing essentially a dressing gown over your clothes.

But note to self… wind goes through knit wear. It’s winter. Add a coat.

The lounge set

Half term was spent how I intend to spend many days this Autumn / winter season. Not going anywhere. Therefore the Asia ribbed two piece loungewear set will be making a season staple.

Smart enough to wear to the home office, stylish enough for the school run, and comfy as hell for laundry day… it’s a winner in my book.

As always, the looks I have chosen remain timeless and will be worn to death over their life. By avoiding fashion quick fixes, these items will remain wardrobe staples for years to come.
