GUEST POST: 7 Beach Bag Essentials

With the summer holidays almost upon us, beach days and holidays are so close we can almost smell the sun cream! Today I’m featuring Breanne from Proper and Pink with a guest post injecting a little California sunshine into our Blighty summer. So without further ado, here’s Breanne and her beach essentials roundup.

What can be better than some time in the sun with our friends and family to just kick back and relax? The only problem is making sure you have everything you need so that your day at the beach doesn’t turn into more work and stress than a day in the office. If you are dreaming of a beachside getaway, don’t worry, I have the perfect recommendations for everything you need to make your waterside adventure simple, fun, and most importantly, enjoyable!

Mesh Whale Bag

Mesh Whale Bag® * White * Brt Blue Pockets* Brt Blue Straps

Bags are essential for any beach trip. The Whale Bag is a great starting point when getting ready for your outing. This one of a kind beach bag has ample storage for beach towels, drinks, sunscreen, toys, munchies, and more for the entire family.  I love this mesh bag because it features many different pockets to stow away all of your goodies and its mesh fabric can be sprayed down to remove any loose sand and will quickly dry.  When the sun sets and it’s time to head home, this bag collapses down for quick and convenient storage.

Tillow’s Pillow Towel

Pink Stripes

If you are more of a beach lounger than a beach player, I have  the perfect suggestion for you! This genius little towel comes with a removable orthopedic foam pillow. What more could you ask for?!  The Tillow Pillow Towel is the perfect choice for catching a few Z’s while soaking in some sun!

Pack-It Freezable Lunch Bags

Now that you have the perfect bag, you can throw in a couple of these freezable lunch bags packed with some snacks, sandwiches, and drinks. The best part is you can now leave that cumbersome cooler behind!

Sunforgettable Brush-on Sunscreen

Fair

Of course sunscreen is a must-have for any trip to the beach, but not just any old sunscreen will do!  I find liquid sunscreens to be messy (especially with small children) and they make me look greasy and sometimes clog my pores.  Mineral-based sunscreens are easy to apply and don’t harm the environment like some spray-on sunscreens do.  I really like this zinc oxide sunscreen by Colorescience, which is available in SPF 30 and 50, because it’s small enough to pack in my bag and makes application a breeze.

Zara’s Rigid Brim Summer Hat

Keeping the sun off your face should be a top priority for any bathing beach beauty and luckily for you, you don’t have to resort to your grandma’s gardening hat! Zara’s Rigid Brim Summer Hat is a great choice for a fashionable head accessory that allows you to stay cool and look cute at the same time.  Made from 100% raffia this hat will keep you cool and also protected!

 Forever 21’s Browline Shades

No need to sweat over your expensive shades getting lost or scratched while playing in the sand or splashing around. Protect your eyes with these fantastic and trendy browline shades from Forever 21. You can look foxy without all the worry!

H&M White Cover-up

This stylish white cover-up is a great choice for throwing over your swimsuit on the way to the beach. Featuring a flowy lace design, you will easily feel comfortable wearing it into a store or favorite beach-side lunch spot. Plus you won’t need to worry about throwing it in the sand when you are ready to splash around a bit. This cover-up covers it all, which is why it’s one of my favorites!

A Day at the Beach!

Summer won’t last forever so there is no time like the present to get out and get going! With these seven items you will be assured that you will have everything you need for a great day at the beach!
